Founder Mode Operating Cadence
A founder mode operating cadence turns founder attention into a weekly rhythm instead of a stream of interruptions.
The point is to decide what deserves founder attention before the week fragments.
Choose the founder-owned problems
Pick no more than three problems where founder context can change speed, quality or risk.
Customer signal
Choose one customer-facing signal that needs founder interpretation.
Decision risk
Choose one decision that is expensive to delay or hard to reverse.
Execution block
Choose one blocked area where founder context can remove friction.
Run decision slots
Do not intervene all day. Create decision slots where owners bring the context, options and risk.
Use four modes: observe, question, recommend and decide.
Review shipped work
Review what shipped, what stayed blocked and which founder interventions helped or hurt.
If the founder had to decide everything, the system is not working yet.
Intervention budget
Give yourself a limited number of direct interventions per week. Each one needs a reason, owner and end condition.
This keeps founder mode from becoming always-on work.
Read Founder Burnout if the cadence is turning into constant founder availability.
